Education

Hello Families of Manaugh!! I am so excited and energized for another spectacular year of learning in 3rd grade :) Let me tell you a little about myself!

I was born and raised in Dolores, CO (Go Bears!) and grew up playing in the Dolores River, hiking in the nearby mountains, and generally having fun outdoors. I mainly played volleyball throughout high school, but also participated in cheerleading and track. After I graduated from high school, I moved to Colorado Springs at UCCS to study Nursing. I quickly realized that my future was in teaching and transferred to CU Denver to finish my studies. I met so many wonderful educators and of course loved living the city life. So much so, that after I graduated in 2010 I decided I wanted to move to Seoul, South Korea to be a kindergarten teacher. It is a beautiful culture and a dynamic city where I met many expats who were also living there. It will be an experience that I will carry with me for my entire life.

After one year living in South Korea, I had to get back to picturesque SW Colorado and ended up getting a 1st Grade teaching position at Manaugh Elementary! First grade was fun, but I am so happy to be teaching 3rd grade for the third year in a row (could it be my lucky year?!) Working with the scholars and sharing our ideas is such an invigorating process. I enjoy seeing their "lightbulbs" glow when they learn something new, and even more so when they can teach it to someone else!

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email or call me so that we can set up a time to chat. Let's work together to make sure that all of our scholars are successful!

Best,

Ms Smith
